I am Edgar Rodríguez-Dorans, a researcher and a counsellor based in Edinburgh. I have a background of Psychology and am interested in the study LGBTQ lives, identities, intimate relationships, and in the use of performing arts in research. I have written and directed theatre since 1999 – I believe arts are a method to deliver important messages and transform lives through the power of stories.
I completed a PhD in Counselling Studies at the University of Edinburgh and I have presented my work in Mexico, Canada, U.K., Malta, France, Spain, and New Zealand. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Creative-Relational Inquiry, a Mental Health Mentor at the Student Disability Service, and a Volunteer Counsellor at Arkordia – a Scottish Charity offering low cost, psychotherapy, art therapy, and counselling services to those on low incomes. I am a Counsellor Member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and work from an integrative approach to counselling. My work has been centred on people living with chronic conditions.
I work with individuals, developing personalised work that suits your needs. I work in the south side of Edinburgh, am open to receive new clients, and would like to hear from you.
